Nature lovers have many nature parks to choose from. In particular the two salt lakes of Laguna de la Mata and the Salinas de San Miguel surrounding Torrevieja. They are Europe’s largest lakes and are sparkling flat expanses where the high concentration of salt, together with the temperature forms a microclimate providing home to a host of migrating birds including large flocks of Pink Flamingos. Endless entertainment for the children to choose from including Aqua parks, Go-karting, Fairs, circuses, boat trips, bike rides, safari parks, theme parks and many more. There are larger Tesco style ones, named Consum & Mercadonna, at La Zenia & Blue Lagoon which is only a 5 minute drive away and a further Mercadonna supermarket at Playa Flamenca which is 7 minutes drive away. You will find everything you need in these two supermarkets and much cheaper than shopping in the local supermarket at Villamartin.

The Costa Blanca is a two-hour flight approximately from the UK. Alicante is the main airport but flights from the UK also fly to Murcia’s San Javier Airport, 15 minutes travel which is handy to Villamartin.
